PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE |
A Partner and Financial Advisor at Mapstone | Veritas, Koen has been a financial professional since 1992.  He started his career in the Syracuse Branch and transferred to Rochester as a Vice President in 1994.  Over his 17 year span as a manager, Koen recruited and developed many successful professionals into the financial planning field, and earned numerous leadership awards for his management efforts.  He has since built a successful financial planning practice with a focus on estate planning, business continuation planning, and retirement distribution strategies.  He focuses on hospital executive retention plans and specialty surgeon retention and income plans.  He is a member of the Equitable Advisors Hall of Fame and was recognized by Equitable Advisors as a Paramount Planning Group member of the Elite Advisors Group based on achieving a certain sales production level among all financial professionals within our organization. He is also a member of  Equitable Advisors Gold.

  • A 1989 graduate of Virginia Tech, B.S. in  Economics 
  • A 1992 graduate of Syracuse University-Whitman School of Management, MBA in Finance and International Business.
  • He holds the ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), and CFP® CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designations.

COMMUNITY |
Koen is an active member of the Estate Planning Council of Rochester and currently serves as a board member.  He is a member of the Finance Council, the Men's Fellowship Committee, and the Global Solidarity Committee at the Church of Transfiguration in Pittsford.  He is active in the Rochester District Soccer League and the BMW Car Club of America’s Genesee Valley Chapter, and is a member of the Porsche Club of America.  He has served as a board member of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association Rochester Chapter.  He was involved in the Rochester chapter of the American Heart Association and served on the Executive Leadership Team of the Rochester Heart Walk and Run Campaign.  Koen has also been active in the American Cancer Society, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s Corporate Committee, and has biked in numerous American Diabetes Association Tour de Cures.
